8 Favorite Quotes from the Book “Parenting God’s Way” (Alistair Begg)

If you haven’t been on this blog’s FB Page lately, there are some quotes card collections that are waiting for you to check out. These are from books I read and I hope you’ll like it to share it with others. There’s more to come, but for now check some albums from the books A Poetic of Orthodoxy (Benjamin P. Myers), Blogging for God’s Glory in a Clickbait World (Benjamin Vrbicek & John Beeson), Confess (Trevor Bates), Being a Small Group Leader (Richard Sweatman), The Everyday Gospel (Tim Chester) and  Last Words (Robert J. Nash).

Now here are my favorite quote from the book Parenting God’s Way by Alistair Begg published by 10 Publishing. If you want to support the author, get a copy of this book by following this link.

“If spirituality is not a particular priority in the balanced diet of a family, we cannot expect our children to gravitate toward spiritual values for sustenance as they begin to grow and reach out to feed themselves.”

C. J. Mahaney on Submission of the Christian Wife

On advising pastors counseling husband and wife, C.J. Mahaney reminds pastors to lead wives to be submissive to their husbands:

“The Christian wife who seeks to honor God in her marriage will be sobered, inspired, and equipped by a clear grasp of Ephesians 5:22-24.

This passage teaches that the respective roles of husband and wife are rooted in the distinctive roles of Christ and His church. Marriage is intended to be a reflection of the divine order in that submission by the wife in marriage reflects the submission of the church to Christ. Help her to see that in neither case is the submission mutual. Christ does not submit to the church, but vice versa, and likewise the husband does not submit to the wife. These roles are not open to redefinition, reinterpretation, or adjustment. Any change represents a deviation from divine purpose, rendering a marriage no longer reflective of the relationship between Christ and the church. Let the wife who loves God and His Word take heart that, in submitting to her husband, she is portraying to the world a reflection of a divine, eternal reality.”

Used Book Finds: A Man’s Touch by Charles F. Stanley

I think this bestseller book is one of those pre-Intouch days of this gifted Bible teacher. Originally titled “Is There a Man in the House?’ I brought it for 15 pesos. As I scan the book you can perceive the gifted wisdom Dr. Stanley as he spiritual paints the man God intends for a family. A man or a husband must have his dimensions under full surrender to God. He must not just provide his family material things but lead his family to be Christ-like. Whew…I pray that I can do that too in the near future. This edition of this book is published by Victor Books in 1977. For more of Charles F. Stanley I encourage you to check him and his ministry over Intouch. God bless you and happy book hunting.
