Book Review: “Amaze Them With God” by Kevin DeYoung

So who remember the book Don’t Call It a Comeback by Kevin DeYoung? Well I do remember it but not something that made an impact to me or to others. I dont think it made waves or became a bestseller. Nor some of my Reformed friends ever mentioned or recommended it. I think it never rings a bell with you too. It was published in 2011 and the young, the restless and the Reformed is at its peak. So Reformed books and blogs (like mine) where in abundance and a book like Kevin DeYoung’s Don’t Call It a Comeback might get lost and end up in a pre loved bookshops.

During my self quarantine, my father in law passed away. So sad that I wasn’t able to go to wake nor his burial last Saturday. However, I’m thankful for the years we have spent through victories and losses. His faithfulness to God as a believer and a deacon is truly inspiring to me and others. Thank you, Papa Terry. Till we meet again!

Anyways, here’s some quotes from the booklet, Amaze Them with God by Kevin DeYoung published by 10 Publishing. If you like these quotes, please get the book by clicking here.

The evangelical church needs to stop preaching the false gospel of cultural identification. Don’t spend all your time trying to figure out how to be just like the next generation. Be yourself. Tell them about Jesus.”
