I thank God that this year had been a diverse year in my reading. I dived into the usual books but also to audiobooks, children’s book and comicbooks which delivers different flavors, all pointing to God’s goodness. I was able to grasps conspiracy theories, narcissism, existentialism, coronavirus and a space opera. This year I get to review books from Wipf and Stock Publishers, New Growth Press and Christian Focus, who are very generous on providing me on the books in digital format. I enjoy every minute of reading and doing stuff on this blog to tell you what I think of these books.
Now it’s another year and it’s time to share what books I enjoyed the the most in 2020. It’s been a busy year also for me as I did some book related stuff for this blog and other ministries. You Must Change Your Life (Thomas J. Millay) – I just can’t stop talking about this book. Not only it gave me a great introduction to existentialism and Kierkegaard, it give you a great reason why a Christian should read. Get the book here.
Dominion (Barron R. Bell, comicbook) – This comic is a must read! Has checked all the right boxes on what is a great comic. Buy the comic here.
Coronavirus and Christ (John Piper) – I’m so so biased on this. LOL! Not only it’s because it’s written by JP but I was involved in translating this book in Filipino. But seriously the book is good! Download for free here or buy a copy.
Mother to Son (Jasmine L. Holmes) – Man, who wont be moved by these letters of a mom to his son. It’s an unforgettable read. Want tp experience that too? Then buy yourself a copy.
Parenting Essentials (Andreas and Margaret Köstenberger) – The wisdom from these two authors are indispensable. I you want to read one parenting book, I highly recommend this one to buy.
Unstuck (Tim Lane) – This book is the real deal. Help is here. If you want to kick that bad habit. No gimmicks no shortcuts. Totally biblical and practical. Get this book now.
Unleash the Word (Karen Soole) – So near to my heart because I co-lead a small group at church. Something short but solid. If you are a church staff this is a must.
Amazed Them with God (Kevin DeYoung) – DeYoung in his finest (in a short book)! This generation needs not the latest fad to get them to God, all they need is point them to Christ. Here’s the link to get this great book.
Before You Open Your Bible (Matt Smethurst) – We might have been so familiar with the Bible that we look it as just an ordinary book. Reading this book will push you to love the Bible even more. It’s short and can be tuck easily in your reading list. Get it here.
Halle Takes A Stand (Paul David Tripp and Joe Hox, children’s book) – Part of the Good News for Little Hearts series last year. This one is a stand out from the three books. Get this book for your kids here.
