But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: (John 1:12 KJV)
And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. (Luke 2:6, 7 KJV)
The third thing that convey how precious this gift is:
3.) How the gift set us apart from others. “…to them gave he power”. I wonder how will you feel when youre the only one in the group who hasn’t received a Christmas present? By now you might be upset while your friends are enjoying the gift. The gift that is Christ sets us apart from others. On this side is the redeemed ones of God while on the other side is the unregenerated ones. We are the saved sinners that obtained the present from heaven, while the rest are unrepentant sinners who are without the gift. We Christians have a right, privilege, benefit, and advantage because of the preciousness of Christ. The rest of mankind, without the promises of Christ and are hell bound while we believers received the precious gift and the promises God committed to his child.
Christians, are we committed to flaunt this precious gift to the world to win them to Christ, that they may also partake the privileges of having Christ?
