5 Fearless Escapes Mentioned in the Bible

next suspense story to indulge is not in cinemas but in God’s Word. Let us check some heart stopping escapes recorded in the Bible:

  1. 1.     Moses and the Israelites crossing the Red Sea (Exodus 14: 15-31). After Moses led the Israelites out of Egypt, Pharaoh changes his mind and pursues the Israelites. Bad decision! With God’s power, Moses (not Chalton Heston!) and his people cross the Red Sea to safety. Truly it is God and God alone saves. How about you, do you trust God alone for your salvation?
  2. 2.    Lot and family flight from Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19: 15-26). Unwilling to cooperate, the angels drag Lot and his family out of Sodom and Gomorrah for God is ready to cremate these sinful cities. God doesn’t want his people even, living in a sinful lifestyle to be judged by his wrath. Will He also save you in his wrath?
  3. 3.    King David escapes Absalom (2 Samuel 15:13-17). Due to a conspiracy inspired by his son, Absalom, King David and his faithful men flee from Jerusalem. This is to preserve the city he fortified and to hopefully to accumulate support throughout the country.
  4. 4.    Peter prison break (Acts 12: 5-17). An angel breaks Peter free from the bondage of prison! He was sleeping between two soldiers, bounded by two chains and has keepers on the door of prison. What an incredible escape done by fervent prayers of believers and the Almighty God.
  5. 5.    Paul and Silas in prison (Acts 16: 25-31). After rescuing a demon possess girl, Paul and Silas was imprison being accused of causing trouble in the city (but in truth they are preaching). God sends an earthquake that opens the prison doors and chains of all prisoners. The prison warden, seeing what just happen tries to commit suicide. But Paul and Silas stopped him. Here the most important question was asked by the prison warden “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” Then the apostles replied the most important answer” Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” What an answer! Have you trusted Jesus as Lord and personal Savior?
